The design and manufacturing procedure may start either from a desired specimen, which through reverse engineering, is transferred into a set of specifications and mechanical drawings, or the specifications / drawings themselves. Moulds are designed and optimised using solid modelling and numerical design. The moulds are then manufactured and a test batch is produced in order to validate their performance and conformity to specifications.
