MORFI uses almost exclusively fine-grained powder metallurgy tool steels from UDDEHOLM, which are subjected to closely monitored heat treatment to achieve high strength, good dimensional stability, high wear resistance, fatigue/creep and impact resistance and corrosion free behaviour. Beryllium bronze and aluminum is used whenever needed in order to ensure high heat transfer rates (i.e. rapid cooling or heating of parts). The company has the means and the experience to achieve close tolerances on parts hardened up to 62HRC using tailor-made optimised-geometry coated or uncoated carbide tools on its manufacturing machine tools.
