Morfi Ltd in cooperation with the NTUA MD-Lab has the ability of taking fine measurements in the as-machined, as-clamped state of the parts on the machining centre table/lathe chuck using a portable FARO-Arm CMM device, which operates either with a non-contact LASER head or a more accurate touch probe, which is able to scan and measure even non convex / non-smooth geometries and features at any angle on the μm scale. Furthermore experimental devices including load-cells for closely monitoring clamping and machining forces and laser interferometers, which are able to measure the distortion of parts, coupled with standard probe measurements of parts in the as-clamped state inside the machine tools, are used to further enhance the measuring and manufacturing abilities of the Production department in the order of 1μm over 300mm or even less.
